Workshop "Digitalisation in materials production

Trends & Challenges

Supply chains are coming under pressure from international crises. At the same time, climate protection targets require drastic measures to increase material and energy efficiency. New products must therefore be developed more quickly and - in terms of resource consumption - in a more targeted manner, as well as manufactured more sustainably.

Competitive advantage with AI

One approach is the radical reduction of development times through ICME (Integrated Computational Materials Engineering). Another is support in manufacturing through digital twins, 3D printing, innovative sensor technology and AR (augmented reality). Extremely effective here is the networking of computer-based methods with experimental techniques. Conventional computer simulation methods are very successfully supplemented by AI methods. The entire development chain for new metallic or ceramic components is considered, from initial application planning to series production.

Planned main topics

- Material design
- Process design
- Digital twin
- Virtual construction
- Process monitoring
- Model integration
- AI algorithms

Our event invites experts from the energy-intensive materials industries - e.g. from the ceramics, refractory and metal industries as well as kiln builders and materials manufacturers - to exchange ideas and network. The event is aimed at R&D managers, technical managers, production managers, developers and employees from these industries. Get to know other participants and recommend the event to your network!

The event is organised in cooperation with Bayern Innovativ. It is supported by the Bavarian State Ministry for Economic Affairs, Regional Development and Energy.
