Motivation

Methods of artificial intelligence

Artificial intelligence (AI) is developing rapidly and is used in more and more areas of technology and development. Particularly in the case of adaptive algorithms, the use of special neural networks has already been very successful. An established field of activity of AI is pattern recognition in complex data sets. Due to the further development of sensor technology, such data increasingly accumulate during material development and production. Numerous other AI methods are available for different tasks.

The benefits of AI methods should be tested at all stages of the value chain. Different AI methods are to be used in other DiMaWert sub-projects as examples, compared with conventional techniques and, if successful, established. Among other things, AI techniques will enable top-down modelling of material and process properties according to specified application requirements.
